Remembering Together Website

The October 7th events reminded us of the strong bond between Israel and Diaspora Jewry. This Memorial Day, we honor both Israeli and Diaspora victims of anti-Semitism and terrorism, uniting to strengthen our shared destiny. The “Remembering Together” initiative, a collaboration between the World Zionist Organization, the Ruderman Family Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, and the Ministry of Defense, invites you to commemorate with a ceremony, whether in your synagogue, school, or family, reinforcing the resilience and solidarity of the Jewish people worldwide.

In The Twilight
A Havdalah Ceremony between Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut

Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut 5785-2025 will be observed for the second year against the backdrop of the events of October 7th.

The Department of Irgoon and Israelis Abroad invites you to hold a special ceremony that will mark the transition between Israel’s Remembrance Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism and the State of Israel’s Independence Day.

The Heart is Still There – Connecting and Remembering

This year we will mark the second Memorial Day since the massacre of October 7, 2023, and the ‘Iron Swords’ War that broke out immediately after it.

Hundreds of soldiers, men and women, and members of the security forces were killed in battles this year as well, and it seems that the bereavement and pain have no end. In preparation for this day, the Department of Irgoon and Israelis Abroad have compiled the booklet which includes a suggestion for a memorial gathering in a community or home setting, with the aim of coming together to remember and commemorate.

Running In Their Memory

The Department of Irgoon and Israelis Abroad, in collaboration with the “Derech Haraglaim” NGO, invites you to join “Running In Their Memory”, a race that will be held on Yom Hazikaron around the world. Whether you run as an individual or you would like to organize a community run, please reach out to our department to coordinate the race and receive running bibs with names of the fallen to run in their memory.

Taste of Memories

The Department of Zionist Activity in the Diaspora offers activities to commemorate fallen IDF soldiers and Israeli terror victims by cooking their favorite recipes and sharing their stories. Participants prepare these dishes while learning about the individuals through personal anecdotes, photos, and videos. This initiative fosters empathy and connection by using food to honor and remember those lost. Through cooking sessions, it creates meaningful interactions that bridge personal and collective experiences of loss.

Wall Of Heroes

The Wall of Heroes project by the Department of Zionist Activity in the Diaspora honors those fallen since October 7th, with many memorialized through bumper stickers featuring their image and a quote. These stickers, displayed across Israel and in diaspora communities, serve to remember, honor, and share the legacy of our heroes, emphasizing their values and teachings for future generations.

Looking North and to its Rebirth – An Exhibit Marking the State of Israel’s 77 Independence Day

On October 8, 2023, one day after the unprecedented Hamas attack on communities near the Gaza border, Hezbollah initiated its assault on communities in northern Israel. Thousands of civilians were evacuated from their homes and spent many long months living in hotels. Numerous communities sustained significant damage. In this exhibition produced by the Department of Irgoon and Israelis Abroad, we have chosen to showcase optimistic photographs. These captured moments convey hope, resilience, and the gradual return to everyday life.
